How agent shipping is priced
Shopping agents generally price a parcel by whichever is greater:
- Actual weight: what the packed parcel weighs.
- Volumetric (size) weight: a weight calculated from the box’s dimensions. Each line sets its own formula, so a light but bulky parcel can cost more than you expect.
Destination, the carrier and the line’s service level then set the rate. That’s why the same parcel can have very different prices across lines.
How to choose a shipping line

Storage and timing
You can usually hold items in the warehouse to combine them into one parcel, which is often cheaper than shipping each item separately. LitBuy’s site text states storage of up to 120 days with the first 90 days free.
LitBuy’s site also shows a notice that items stored for more than 48 hours should be submitted “to avoid potential rate increases and to remain eligible for shipping and total-cost discounts.” We have not verified how strictly this applies, but it suggests not leaving items waiting longer than you need to.
Customs and import duties
Import rules and duty thresholds are set by your country and change over time, so we don’t list them here. Before you order, check your national customs authority’s website for current thresholds, and remember that goods which are illegal to import, including counterfeits, can be seized.
